Fishing

Territory and species

The Kensington Coop gives access to a fishing area that covers both the Gatineau Valley and area of the Upper Laurentians. Through these open spaces, fishing enthusiasts can find their paradise to enjoy the simple little moments of life.

La Coop helps support the aquatic and fishing environment by ensuring that small lakes are stocked with different species: speckled trout (brook trout), brown trout, rainbow trout, moulac trout.

In addition to these efforts invested by their co-op, the members have formed a group that increases the investment in seeding each year: the Old Timers group. Thus, each year the Old Timers collect donations which they then donate to the coop to increase the supply of fish to the lakes in the region.

KENSINGTON LAKE

The Kensington Club gives immediate access to the lake of the same name. Kensington Lake has an approximate length of 6 kilometers and is formed by 6 bays: Riel Bay, Séguin Bay, Black Bay, Lièvre Bay, Roy Bay and Hamilton Bay which are all connected by channels called the Narrows . With a variety of sand, rock and mud bottoms, the depths vary from 5 to 50 meters, you can practice fishing for lake trout (lake trout), speckled trout (brook trout), pike, smallmouth bass and yellow perch.

SMALL LAKES

All around Lake Kensington, there are about twenty small lakes which all have their own character. Most offer a dock from Kensington Lake, a landscaped trail, and a rowboat with oars. It is also possible to bring an electric motor to the small lakes.
